They will then be in the right frame of mind to take the game to Kilkenny from the throw-in, and step up to the plate when the game is in the melting pot. Whilst Kilkenny are seeking reward for one year's work, an All-Ireland victory for Waterford, will be their reward for their efforts over the past decade.
In the weeks leading up to the final, if the Kilkenny propaganda machine start talking about front doors and back doors, and regime change, what they will be trying to do is to create doubts in Waterford players' minds, regarding their entitlement to victory.

In a way, it is the best possible result, as ye will have a point to prove when ye encounter Tipp in future, whether in the league or the championship.
It is easy to envisage Clare winning a Senior Munster and All-Ireland Hurling Championship in the next year or two by incorporating some hurlers from this year's under 21 team, to strengthen the squad.
